As the team behind Paris' most successful specialist cocktail bars, The Experimental Cocktail Club's latest nightlife venture has raised the local benchmark yet again. We find out more about their sophisticated new cocktail bar, Prescription.
PARIS The Experimental Cocktail Club’s credentials are impressive to say the least, where it is not only renowned as one of the best cocktail bars in Europe, but has been voted by the experts at Bartender Magazine as one of the best bars in the world. Tucked away in a narrow pedestrian street in the fashionable area of Montorgueil, this stylish, dimly lit minimalist neo-baroque den is usually packed with a mix of locals and foreigners who tend to settle in for the night. Following its success, the team opened their second venture, Curio Parlor Cocktail Club, which crosses the river to Paris’ Left Bank in the 5th district. A stylish speakeasy hidden near Place Maubert, Curio Parlor’s interiors have the same stylish minimalist neo-baroque feel and the same hip, fashionable crowd of cocktail aficionados.
Their recently opened third venture, Prescription Cocktail Club, manages to raise the benchmark again and has quickly established itself as one of the most intimate, fun and fashionable nightlife spots in Paris. Located in the heart of Paris’ vibrant Saint Germain area in the 6th district, Prescription is an elegant, warm and dimly-lit sanctuary of heavenly cocktails. Along with champagne and top shelf spirits, Prescription’s exotic specialty cocktails are limited to around 13 finely crafted creations. The signature Rouge George is infused with an exotic mix of Rittenhouse whisky, Santa Teresa rum, vermouth and a dash of orange zest; while the popular Mazarina Rosa is a refresing blend of Ketel One vodka, red fruits, fresh mint and champagne. The friendly staff are more than willing to share their knowledge, so settle into the plush wingback lounges with Paris' fashionable crowd and slowly work your way down their highly affordable menu of €12 cocktails.
