Dos Palillos Restaurant

Barcelona's hottest new restaurants, Dos Palillos, has been turning heads since opening its doors. We find out why.

BARCELONA  When the head chef of one of the worlds best restaurants decided to leave El Bulli after 7 years to open his own new dining venture, gourmet foodies around the world held their breath in anticipation. Dos Palillos (or “two sticks” in reference to chopsticks) is the exquisite new offering from acclaimed chef Albert Raurich, who fuses Spanish, Japanese and globally influenced flavours together into his own unique tasting menu. As the in-house restaurant of the hip Casa Camper design hotel, the dimly-lit modern tapas bar seats only 12 diners around an intimate u-shaped kitchen to place you in the heart of the action (otherwise you can try your luck securing a seat in the tiny cocktail bar). The team of chefs create a daily-changing €60 tasting menu of meticulously crafted tastes which will no doubt surprise, challenge and ultimately mesmerise your palette. Expect delicacies such as the silky slow-cooked egg in dashi, or achingly-fresh razor clams with a Thai red curry kaffir lime and coriander. Dos Palillos has quickly established itself as one of Barcelona’s best and brightest new restaurant offerings. Advance bookings essential.
