New York's celebrated 3 Michelin starred French chef and restauranteur, Daniel Boulud, reveals his favourite places to eat in New York:
FAVOURITE RESTAURANTS "I have a lot of great friends who are chefs in New York that do an amazing job. I love a kid who is Portugese, he’s young, his name is Georges Mendes and he’s at Aldea restaurant. I like him very much as he is growing to be a very, very good chef. There is also chef Daniel Humm at Eleven Madison Park. Fabulous. I also make a point of going to Brooklyn to Di Fara Pizzeria, which has to be one of the best pizza places in New York, where an old man who’s 70 years old, who grates the cheese and snips his basil onto every pizza, and he bakes every single pie himself. He charges you around US$6 for a slice which is very expensive and outrageous for Brooklyn, however he can get away with it as he always has a line of 50 people waiting outside for

him to bake the pies and serve them. There are also places such as chef David Chang’s Momofuku restaurants, which are very, very cool. I also love Sushi Yasuda for sushi. I think he is a perfectionist and he has always very interesting clams and very interesting seafood, that’s what he does best. There is a wonderful chef who worked for me, Andrew Carmellini, and he’s opened Locanda Verde restaurant in Tribeca. It’s fantastic, he’s a very good chef, a very good Italian chef. Marea of course, is fabulous."
