As one of our all-time favourite folk pop bands in the world, we catch up with musician Christopher Bear from the band Grizzly Bear about his favourite restaurants & cocktail bars in New York:
BEST RESTAURANTS "I live in Brooklyn, New York and I like it here a lot. My favourite restaurant in Brooklyn is definitely Marlow and Sons. I think they do amazing food in a very comfortable environment. It’s not super fancy food, however it’s really comforting while still pushing the envelope at the same time. You defintiely don’t feel like you’re at a stuffy white tablecloth restaurant, so that’s an amazing one. There’s also really good Japanese ramen in Manhattan at a restaurant called Ipuddo restaurant in East Village. Another great New York restaurant in a similar vein, but pushing the boundary even further, is chef David Chang’s Momofuku Ssam Bar.
BEST BARS There are a lot of amazing cocktail bars in New York.

There’s actually one just down the street from here in Queens called Dutch Kills, that’s really great. Hotel Delmano in Williamsburg is really great. In Manhattan, Momofuku does this incredible cocktail with infused applejack and it’s basically just an old fashioned but with a seaweed flavour that’s just amazing. They also use celery bitters - just an incredible cocktail.”
