Located in the bustling Castello district close to the Rialto Markets, Fiaschetteria Toscana is a legendary Venetian restaurant that has been owned and operated by the Busatto family since 1956. Having initially started out as a specialist local wine bar, the Fiaschetteria Toscana has transformed over the years into one of Venice’s most charming restaurants by owners Albino (the maitre’d), his wife Mariuccua (the dessert queen) and his son Stefano (the chef). Fiaschetteria Toscana offers a seafood-inspired Venetian menu where all of their ingredients are sourced locally from the surrounding Venetian lagoons and islands. Expect fresh and flavoursome dishes such as the intensely flavoured black pasta with local lobster, perfectly panfried monkfish cheeks, tiny, sweet razor clams, and heavenly desserts made by Mariuccua herself, along with an impressive Italian wine list of over 150 Italian winemakers. Our favourite place to eat during the warmer months is in the restaurant’s outdoor “campiello” (small square) positioned next to a 16th century well, however the indoor dining rooms on the ground floor and the smaller dining rooms upstairs are equally as charming. Bookings advised. Closed Tuesday and lunchtime Wednesday.
