Having first opened in 1924, Bar Necci is a charming Pigneto district café which offers its patrons a taste of local life in Rome. Stainless steel furniture and chic white walls peppered with photographs and memorabilia give the inside of this café a vintage 1960s Bohemian atmosphere. Bar Necci serves an all-day menu of hearty Italian dishes, fresh-baked pastries, coffee and Italian sodas, where locally sourced ingredients tend to feature heavily throughout the menu. Diners are offered four choices for each course in the daily-changing menu: antipasti, the appetizer; primi, the first course; secondi, the entrée; and dolci, or dessert. Bar Necci also boasts incredible home-made gelato, the Italian delicacy. Regional wines are available by the glass, however customers can bring their own wine to enjoy with their meal. Affordable prices and a laid-back atmosphere make this a stellar spot for a late lunch or after-dinner drinks. You can also choose to sit outdoors underneath the canopy of trees illuminated with sparkling lights for a more romantic and festive atmosphere.
