The Parisian social experience revolves around the local Parisian cafe scene, where the city boasts everything from see-and-be-seen outdoor terrace cafes and intimate old-school gems, to the more edgy, hipster hang-outs. Here is our selection of the best cafes for a pre- or post dinner aperitif in Paris:
1. Rue Montorgueil - This is one of the most charming pedestrian terrace streets in Paris, and is lined with cafes that all face the passing street parade. This is one of Paris' prime people watching places, where Au Rocher de Cancale and Cafe Etienne Marcel are our favourites.
2. Cafe Flore - During fashion week, this is where you'll see all of the international fashion set hanging out around the clock, along with Paris' business power-players, designers, and even the odd former President or two.
3. Les Progres - this is one of the most popular cafes in the trendy Marais district. The nearby Cafe Charlot and La Perle Cafe are also local Marais institutions.
