Where the cool people play and the international jet-set dash to upon arrival in Paris, Costes is a sultry, brooding playhouse for the world’s trendy crowd. Set within the uber-cool Hotel Costes and designed by the legendary designer, Jack Garcia, the exquisite open courtyard are the tables of choice in summer and the sumptuous red velvet lounges inside are perfect for intimate drinks during winter. While it may not be quite as cool as it once was in its heyday, it still retains a sort of secret society atmosphere where you’re just as likely to be sitting next to Monica Belluci over lunch or eyeing Kate Moss across the bar later in the evening. The cocktail lounge is a dimly lit, sunken black velvet den where divine plush lounges and flickering candlelight creates a romantic, sultry ambience. Our favourite cocktail is the house speciality exotic Gin Fizz, along with their superb selection of French wines and champagnes. While the price tag tag doesn’t come cheaply, you just never know who you might be sitting next to.
