Glamourous, extravagant and jet-set, Hotel Costes is the epitome of Parisian chic. Jacques Garcia’s imagination ran wild when he was commissioned to create Paris’ most talked about intimate and exclusive hotel. While it may not be quite as cool as it once was in its heyday, it still retains a sort of secret society atmosphere where you’re just as likely to be sitting next to Monica Belluci over lunch or eyeing Kate Moss across the bar later in the evening. The boudoir-style rooms are comfortable and ornate, with sharp attention to details and furnished in a romantic Napoleon III ‘maximalism’ style with plush red, purple and gold furnishings and deep soaking tubs. The spacious suites each feature a themed design, e.g. "Moroccan nights." Expect some serious people watching from the exquisite open-air Italian-style dining courtyard and sultry black-velvet lounge bar. Be aware that Costes tends to employ beautiful young starlets that can sometimes be lacking in hospitality skills. But at a place like this, that’s just part of the territory.
