Located in the hip residential suburb of Islington, Trullo is one of London’s hottest casual and affordable Italian dining spots. This modern trattoria that has been generating serious buzz for its simple, seasonal and unfussy fresh Italian cuisine. The ultra-chic industrial interiors feature an open kitchen where you can see chef Tim Siadatan (who trained under Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen project, Moro and St John) directing his kitchen like clockwork. The manager, Jordan Frieda, has a River Café pedigree and oversees a service team that are warm, friendly and professional. The short daily-changing menu offers a simple yet perfectly executed selection of dishes, such as cannellini bean bruschetta, pappardelle pasta with wood pigeon stew, and slow-cooked veal shin with salsa verde and long-roasted aubergine. The cheese selection and the expertly curated wine list are another highlight of the Trullo dining experience. Trullo is open during the weekdays for dinner, on Saturdays for lunch and dinner, and on Sundays for a three-course fixed lunch menu. Advance bookings required.
