Set within a refurbished tea factory in East London’s trendy Shoreditch area, Pizza East restaurant is the definition of ‘industrial cutting-edge cool’ with original concrete walls and exposed beams, pipes and pillars taking center stage. Fresh contemporary touches such as leather seating and steel refectory tables complete the look. The standouts on the wood-fire pizza menu include the hearty veal meatball with prosciutto, lemon, parsley and cream; and the spicy sausage with mozzarella, broccoli and garlic. However, its really the trendy, buzzing scene which is the highlight more than the pizza itself. Despite the expansive interiors, Pizza East still manages to create a sense of intimacy with a range of dining areas - from its intimate bar-stool seating overlooking the kitchen action, to the more spacious leather banquets for larger groups. The noise levels are loud, the prices are reasonable, and the overall atmosphere makes for a really fun night out. Pizza East also offers a popular weekend brunch service with delicious breakfast-inspired pizzas and wood-fired Italian tastes. The team have also recently opened a second location in west London’s Portobello Market area. Bookings advised.
