Dishoom

  • Indian

Drawing heavily from the heritage and traditions of the Old Bombay, Dishoom restaurant is an exciting new all-day casual dining venture near London’s central Leicester Square district. Styled as a Bombay brasserie by designer Afroditi Krassa, Dishoom’s lively atmosphere is punctuated with dark woods, wall-to-wall mirrors, an open kitchen and kitsch Bollywood posters. Open from 8am until 11pm every day, Dishoom is a great place to pop into at any time of the day, be it for a drink, a casual snack or an indulgent feast. Start with a bacon naan roll for breakfast with an aromatic chai tea, moving on to lunch with with a fresh salad, roti roll and lightly spiced lentil Mulligatawny soup for lunch. For dinner, go with a group and order a wide selection of their sharing plates, including the Dishoom chicken tikka, the spicy minced lamb Boti Kabab and the grilled Masala prawns. Classic dessert favorites include the Kulfi (a dense and creamy Indian version of ice cream) served on a stick for a modern twist. Reservations at this popular restaurant are not accepted, so be prepared for a short wait during the busy dinner hours and on weekends.
