As one of the most sophisticated design hotels in Hong Kong, The Upper House is the impressive hotel offering by the up-and-coming Asian design talent, Andre Fu. As his first luxury hotel project with the Swire Hotels Group, the designer has created a small luxury hotel reminiscent of a luxurious private residence with a distinctly warm and inviting, home-away-from-home feel. The elegant interiors feature an abundance of earth-toned natural materials, along with subtle yet playful lighting, and stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Hong Kong cityscape. The Upper House also boasts an impressive collection of art works from some of Asia’s finest artists, including a soaring ten-story sculpture and water feature by artist Hiroshiwata Sawada which gracefully climbs the wall of the hotel’s atrium. Artist Marvin Minofang has also created custom-designed sculptures out of wood-grain sandstone within each of the guests rooms to complement Anfre Fu’s concept of serenity. Located in the heart of Pacific Place, Hong Kong’s upscale shopping district and with several in-house dining options, The Upper House is our favourite luxury design hotel in Hong Kong and is well worth the indulgent price tag. Don’t miss a visit to the hotel’s stylish in-house 29th floor restaurant, Cafe Grey Deluxe, which offers delicious international cuisine, a chic lounge bar, and spectacular views overlooking the city.
